The Day Of Yahweh, The Day Of The Lord

The Coming Great Day Of Yahweh

The coming Great Day of Yahweh, commonly and popularly known to many as the “Day of the Lord,” is a major prophetic event that will affect the lives of every human being on this earth. The great prophets of the Bible, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel spoke about it. The so-called “minor prophets”–Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Zephaniah, Zechariah and Malachi–also emphasized this coming event in the Old Testament. Even the apostles Peter and Paul wrote about it in the New Testament! Yet very sadly most people, including many church leaders, completely misunderstand Revelation 1:10. As a result, they do not understand the perspective from which the entire book was written. When the apostle John declared that He was in the Spirit in Yahweh’s Day, he was not talking about the day of the week on which he received this very prophecy. Rather, he was describing the future prophetic time that he saw in vision—a time when Yahweh will intervene very powerfully in end-time world affairs. Today, we are going to share with you the real truth about this very, very important biblical topic. As always, we humbly ask for the help and guidance of Yahweh’s Holy Spirit in teaching this subject matter to you. May you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear for this heavenly message!

But first you have to understand that the Bible nowhere defines the first day of the week as “Yahweh’s Day.” That usage developed among the early Roman Catholic “church fathers,” decades after Revelation was written. However, more than 30 times in the Old Testament, the future time of Elohim’s judgement is called the “Day of Yahweh.” When you carefully look at the contents of Revelation, it is plain and clear that the time of Savior Yahshua’s coming is the focal point of the visions the apostle John saw. The time of Yahweh’s future intervention and judgement is the theme that runs throughout Revelation. The apostle John wrote from that future perspective. Notice that in Revelation 1:12, when John saw the lampstands representing Yahweh’s Church through the ages, he looked behind him to do so. From the perspective of John’s vision, Church history was completely in its past time. Our dear readers we need to understand the apostle John is not referring to Sunday as Yahweh’s day. If he were doing that, he would have referred to Sunday as “the first day” of the week as he did Bible in the Gospel of John. Yahshua Himself, who kept the seventh-day Sabbath, said He was Master of the Sabbath (Mark 2:27-28). The apostle John was not speaking of Sunday!

The coming Great Day of Yahweh is also called “the great day of His wrath” (Revelation 6:17)! So, what is it? To say it plainly, it is the climactic time of Yahweh’s judgement on the nations. It is the time when Almighty Yahweh begins to intervene more directly and powerfully in the affairs of humanity. It is the time when Yahweh reveals His sovereignty over human powers and human existence. Yes, this year-long Day of Yahweh is the seventh seal of Revelation in Bible. The seventh seal consists of seven trumpet plagues or judgements! The apostle John writes in Revelation 8:1, “When He (Yahshua the Messiah) opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I (John) saw the seven angels who stand before Yahweh, and to them were given seven trumpets.” They are introduced by noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake (Revelation 8:5). But before the seventh seal is the sixth seal that describes how the “powers of the heavens will be shaken” (Matthew 24:29) after the end-time Great Tribulation and martyrdom of the saints has begun but before Yahweh’s wrath is unleashed in “the Day of Yahweh” (Joel 2:31). Yes, these heavenly signs announce the beginning of the Day of Yahweh. We must understand the Great Tribulation and martyrdom of the saints is Satan’s wrath on mankind! During this time Satan knows that his rule on earth is nearing the end and he will be doing everything in his power to destroy and to kill anyone and anything on earth!

In Revelation 6 the apostle John describes the Lamb, Yahshua the Messiah. Yahshua describes the signs of His second coming, and the sequence of events that coincide with the seals of Revelation. Revelation describes that people will be accountable and there will be no escape: “And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” (Revelation 6:15-17). Yahshua Messiah clearly described the signs of His coming in His Olivet Prophecy: “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man (Yahshua the Messiah) coming in the cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:25-28). Consequently, in the latter part of the 2 1/2 (two and a half) years of Satan’s wrath, Almighty Yahweh will powerfully intervene on earth, first with signs and wonders in the heavens, then by orchestrating His final punishments to all the unholy peoples, the False Prophet, and ultimately, Satan, before Yahshua’s 2nd return to earth!

Finally, in Revelation 8 the seventh seal is opened. This will be Almighty Yahweh’s own wrath on this rebellious and insolent world! It describes seven other aspects of end-time events, each announced with a trumpet blast. In the first four of these plagues Yahweh strikes the earth and mankind’s environmental support systems. The fifth trumpet’s plague inflicts great pain on those refusing to serve Yahweh. In the sixth trumpet plague, Yahweh permits an unimaginably destructive and all-out worldwide war to begin (Revelation 8-9). With the sounding of the seventh trumpet, the Bible reveals that “the mystery of Yahweh would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets” (Revelation 10:7). The prophet John writes: “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Sovereign and of His Messiah, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15). Yes, the Almighty Father in heaven Yahweh is in control. Every prophetic detail will be carried out according to His time frame, not the people’s time frame! As Yahshua concluded His Olivet Prophecy, He warned His disciples who would live during the end time: “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass (the terrible end-time events), and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:34-36). Remember the Abomination of Desolation will come first before the great and terrible Day of Yahweh!

Yes, we need to face reality. Again, read the description of these seven last plagues in Revelation 16. They include plagues of painful sores on those who have worshiped the Beast power and its image. They include eventuating poisonous rivers and seas to the extent that “every living creature in the sea died” (Revelation 16:3). The sun becomes hotter, resulting in extreme heat waves that torment those who will not repent of their sins! Yes, the Bible does say we must repent of sin or perish forever if we do not! Incredible as it may seem in the end time, the rebellious peoples and nations of this planet earth are so deceived, arrogant, and angry, that they will attempt to fight against the returning King of kings and Master of masters, whom many will believe is an invader from outer space! Remember that–as devastating as these events may be–they lead up to the great hope we all have, the return of the Messiah, Yahshua! Yahweh has promised to watch over and care for His people during this time of unprecedented worldwide turmoil. Although Satan will try to destroy Yahweh’s people, Yahweh will provide the means for many of them to be spared this dangerous time (Revelation 12:13-17). Yahshua says He will care for those who faithfully serve Him during that time. He tells one faithful group at the end, “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth” (Revelation 3:10). In Revelation 7, Yahweh’s servants are sealed and spared from the coming global upheavals (Revelation 7:2-3). Who are Yahweh’s true servants? The book of Revelation describe them: They are those “who keep the commandments of Yahweh and have the testimony of Yahshua,” those “who keep the commandments of Yahweh and the faith of Yahshua” and those who do His commandments” (Revelation 12:17; 14:12; 22:14).

In closing, our Father in heaven will judge all the nations and all the people during the coming great Day of Yahweh, but He will also be preparing a time of restoration. Notice: “Yahweh will also roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake; but Yahweh will be a shelter for His people, and the strength of the children of Israel. So you shall know that I am Yahweh your Elohim, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain” (Joel 3:16-17). Yes, our hope is in the Savior and His coming rulership over all the nations! We should take great comfort in Yahweh’s promises and the knowledge He has made available to us about the end time. The good news is that, if we prepare ourselves spiritually, this can be a time of confidence, hope and joy leading inexorably to Yahweh’s incomparable Kingdom. The apostle Paul gives a wonderful perspective of how we should spiritually prepare for the Day of Yahweh, regardless of when it comes. “But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For Yahweh has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Master Yahshua Messiah, who died for us, that whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another, just as you also are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:4-11). “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Master, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7-8). “But he who endures to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13). Brethren, always remember that Yahshua Messiah assures us with these words: “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption (rescue) draws near” (Luke 21:28). We hope that you’re blessed reading this true and faithful Kingdom message. May Yahweh forever bless those who are always true and faithful to Him and Messiah. May love, peace, truth and mercy be with us all. May you heed by these words of witness and warning for His protection. All these we ask and pray to Yahweh through our coming King, Master and Savior Yahshua, Amen. Halleluyah, Shalom!
