Following The True Sabbath Day

Imagine having one day every week to avoid work, a day to get out of all household chores, a day of not worrying about your to-do lists, a day to spend time with your family and friends, a day in nature, a day of doing something nice for someone else—and all of this without any guilt. Most importantly, having a time to build faith, a day of freedom and worship to the living Elohim who is in heaven! Yes, it’s called Sabbath, which literally means “to cease” or “to stop” from work. Today, we are going to share with you the real truth about the Sabbath day. We are going to discuss with you the true significance and real importance of following the true Sabbath day according to Bible. As always, we ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit of Yahweh to give us holy wisdom in teaching you this vital topic about the Sabbath day. We pray to Yahweh to give you the understanding of His truth. Let us remind you right away how important the Sabbath is to Almighty Yahweh. In one remarkable statement in the book of Isaiah Yahweh says, “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on My holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of Yahweh honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in Yahweh, and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights” (Isaiah 58:13-14).

The Almighty Father in heaven Yahweh set the example for us when He rested on the seventh day of creation. He showed us by example that He designed it to be a holy day on which to rest for the whole day. The Sabbath is a time to stop our normal activity at sunset on Friday until sunset on Saturday. As Christians, we have to enjoy this 24-hour period to rejuvenate ourselves physically, emotionally and, most importantly, spiritually. Notice! The Bible says: “For in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but He rested on the seventh day. Therefore, Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy” (Exodus 20:11). This means that we must also stop what we’re doing to think and study more about Yahweh, go to Sabbath worship services, and learn more about how to live Yahweh’s way. The Sabbath redirects us so we can focus on Yahweh’s time and His direction for our lives. It means trusting Yahweh with your time, your feelings, your character, your relationship to others, your perspective, your attitude, your finances, your whole being, your very existence! Stepping out and doing something that Yahweh wants, even when it seems different and maybe strange, builds a strong faith in Him!

The Bible tells us the Savior of mankind Yahshua is “the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). His genuine followers also know that Yahshua the Messiah created the Sabbath as holy time. Since the Bible is true—that Yahshua is always the same—what do we find as we go forward through time? The prophet Isaiah prophesied about worshiping on the seventh-day Sabbath. He writes: “From month to month and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all humanity will come to worship Me, says the Master” (Isaiah 66:23). Yes, Yahshua the Savior created Sabbath at creation. He designed it as a day of worship. And millenial later, after He returns to earth, it’s still holy as the day of worship for “all humanity.” The Bible say that Yahshua—the Word—is made flesh. He’s called Emmanuel, “El with us,” Elohim in the flesh (Matthew 1:23). Yahshua, as a human being, was physically on earth more than 2,000 years ago. If Yahshua is the same yesterday, today and forever, we should find Him remaining the same! The Bible records His routine custom at the start of His ministry on earth. Notice! “His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read” (Luke 4:16). Very clearly, Yahshua the Messiah not only openly followed the Sabbath day, but He also kept it holy, from sunset Friday through sunset Saturday. And to top it all, the Bible says that Yahshua is “Master of the Sabbath” (Mark 2:28). Just think! How could Yahshua break the Sabbath commandment if He’s the Master of it? Have you ever thought about that?

Furthermore, Yahshua the Messiah emphasized just how important the Sabbath is for all people everywhere. He said, “The Sabbath was made for the good of human beings” (Mark 2:27). Yes, the Savior says, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath! It wasn’t made just for the Jews and then done away with or replaced by Sunday! The Sabbath day was never changed! The Savior of humanity, Yahshua, set His example of Sabbath worship for His genuine followers to follow. Yahshua never once told His disciples to ignore His example. He never once said any church or any person has the authority to transfer the Sabbath to Sunday! In fact, He taught just the opposite. He said, “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me” (John 12:26). This is the same Yahshua who was the Word, the One who created the Sabbath. Yahshua set the seventh-day as holy and told us to follow Him—to live like Him, to think like Him, to worship like Him. Again, Yahshua clearly tells us that He is Master of the Sabbath day. His day of worship is the seventh-day Sabbath! It’s not Sunday or any other day of the week. He is consistent (Malachi 3:6). May these Bible truths sanctify you.

Now here’s our questions for you: Did Savior Yahshua set His example of Sabbath worship so we don’t have to? Should we just disregard the way that Yahshua worshipped? Very sadly, that’s what most religious “gurus” and Bible “preachers” teach today! Many of them are ignorant to Bible truths! They are simply blind to the spiritual truth! Here is what concerns us the most: These false religious “gurus” and Bible “preachers” are leading and leaving their churches or congregations with their misleading, man-made gospel. Surprisingly, some people belonging to these different religious sects were brave enough to admit here to the truth about Sunday-keeping worship. Savior Yahshua warns us about it: “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch” (Matthew 15:14). Read also Luke 6:39. So contrary to what most churches teach, we proclaim that Sabbath worship on the seventh-day was not somehow altered or annulled. As mentioned, Yahshua is consistent. He’s constant. He’s the same. He said that “the Sabbath was made for the good of man.” It was the day made to help people. It was made to meet the needs of people. It was made for the good of people. It wasn’t exclusive to one group of people or for just a limited time only. The Sabbath day was the same in biblical times and today as well. Even now authentic Christians take Yahshua’s words to heart and follow Him by observing the seventh-day Sabbath, which is Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. They worship on the same day that Yahshua did. Yes, following the true Sabbath day is not “Jewish.” It’s the genuine Christian way of observing the true Sabbath over which Yashua is the Master. True Christian always follow the examples of Yahshua. How about you? Are you living your life following His footsteps?

In closing, today we need liberation from many forms of “slavery”—from computers, electronic games, television, business-related phone calls, and from all the pressures of our modern consumer society. Imagine a day for you without the usual texts, tweets, e-mails, and shopping! Imagine a day devoted only to family, Bible-study, and worshipping our Creator Yahweh. Sunday-keeping as Sabbath has largely become a pale imitation at best of obedience to Yahweh’s fourth commandment (Exodus 20:8). Remember what our Heavenly Father Yahweh said: “You must observe My Sabbaths. This will be a sign between Me and you for generations to come” (Exodus 31:13). Did you grasp that? If you are not observing the Sabbath on the seventh-day, you’re in the wrong church, and you’re not one of His! Yes, the Sabbath is a key to the Kingdom of Yahweh! Remember that in the future the Sabbath will be observed by all people during the reign of Yahshua the Messiah over all nations (Isaiah 66:23). So following the true Sabbath day will guide you to the point of living by “every word of Yahweh” as Yahshua directed. Again, the Bible clearly and plainly say that Yahshua the Messiah is the Master of the Sabbath! By observing the seventh-day Sabbath, Yahshua proved He is the same yesterday, today and forever! His true followers or genuine Christians follow Him! To observe the real day of Sabbath is to enter a dimension where Almighty Yahweh and Yahshua the Messiah dwells. Keeping the Sabbath by worshipping and fellowshipping with others of like mind is being with Yahweh and Messiah in spiritual fellowship. Yahweh’s Kingdom is soon-coming to the earth, and Yahshua will rule over all. Who are those to receive the Kingdom of Yahweh? The Bible in the book of Revelation answer it for everyone very plain and clear. It says it will be given to “those keeping the commandments of Yahweh and the testimony of Yahshua the Messiah” (Revelation 12:17). Will you be a partaker of that coming Kingdom? We hope that you’re enlightened by this true and faithful message. Help us spread the Good News and the true Gospel of the heavenly kingdom by sharing this to all of your family and friends. May Yahweh bless you and keep you. All these we ask and pray in the name of our King Yahshua the Messiah, Amen. Halleluyah and Shalom!
