Religious Rapture Doctrine Is Not Biblical

Many religious people and Christians in the world today have blindly accepted the rapture doctrine, a false and unholy doctrine which teaches and promotes that Yahshua Messiah will either secretly whisk away the Christians or take them openly to heaven with Him upon His return. They say or claim the believers will spend either 3 1/2 or 7 years in heaven for utmost safekeeping while the end-time tribulation is happening here on earth. Is this what the Bible teaches, or is this another popular but man-made religious theory out there? Those aspiring to be Christians and those who are already Christians now need to know the truth that this religious rapture doctrine is not biblical and it is never from the Almighty Yahweh nor His Son Yahshua the Messiah! The apostle Peter warned the early Christians at Galatia never to listen to a fake or another “gospel” teachings spoken of by the deceitful and misguided preachers when he said: “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:8-9).

The rapture doctrine or theory is a very popular idea for many professing Christians, religious ministers included. In fact, this unbiblical “rapture” teaching has been turned into movies and best-selling books picturing suddenly driverless cars crashing into one another and pilotless airplanes falling from the sky. The message is very strong: Be a good Christian and you will be “raptured” and saved from the destruction of the end-time tribulation! Most, if not all, of the modern religious “gurus” today say 1 Thessalonians 4 describes a “secret rapture” taking place before the great tribulation. That passage states: “For this we say unto you by the word of Yahweh, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Master shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Master Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of Elohim; and the dead in Messiah shall rise first; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Master in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Master” (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17). These verses obviously describe Yahshua’s second-coming, which is announced by the seventh and last trumpet blast. The “last day” occurs after the tribulation, not before. The last day refers to the final resurrection of all believers. This is the timing of that passage. For some people to say that Yahshua Messiah will return a “secret” additional time suggests He misrepresented His second-coming to earth. This very abominable rapture teaching makes Yahshua Messiah a liar and the perpetrator of confusion, which He is not!

Additionally, another Bible passage that rapture believers commonly cite to support their claim is in 1 Corinthians 15. That passage states: “Now this I say brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of Yahweh, neither does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death Is Swallowed Up In Victory” (1 Corinthians 15:50-54). There is no proof or even hint of a rapture on this passage. The last trump phrase refers to the seventh trumpet which announces Yahshua’s return on earth, and it is then when He gathers His people! At that point, His true followers will be changed into perfect, immortal beings. That is the time of the resurrection, when the “dead in Yahshua Messiah” are raised to spirit-born immortal life. Genuine Christians will meet Yahshua in the clouds and return to earth with Him to begin His rule on earth! Yahshua’s destination in that day is at the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4). He does not reverse direction and head back to heaven with the newly gathered Saints. The Scripture’s Book of Revelation says it all very plainly and clearly: “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him” (Revelation 1:7). All the peoples and every nation will see Yahshua’s second-coming on earth! Note and understand that nothing “secret” or “hidden” is described here at all, as what the rupturist believers and supporters imply or suggests!

Interestingly, the people who embrace the false rapture doctrine are separated into three groups. There are those who believe in the “pre-tribulation rapture” (believes the tribulation period is seven years, with it turning “great” at the halfway point). There are also those who believe in the “mid-tribulation rapture” (believes the catching away occurs at that supposed halfway point, 3 1/2 years before Yahshua’s return). Finally, there are those who believe in the “post-tribulation rapture” (believes the catching up of believers to meet Yahshua in the air comes at the end of the 3 1/2 year great tribulation period). While the latter position is closer than the others to what the Bible teaches, the term rapture is still problematic, given all the false conception surrounding it. The rapture theory is unscriptural as it led people to believe the lie that no effort or overcoming is really necessary in order to be saved from the coming Great Tribulation on this wicked and unholy world. Rewards and salvation are not given to those who are lax and lackadaisical in their faith and obedience to Almighty Yahweh. The Book of Acts explicitly affirm this fact when it says, “Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the Kingdom of Yahweh” (Acts 14:22). In addition, the Book of Matthew also confirm this faithful truth through these words: “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13).

Let the truth be told once again to all people and nations that the second-coming of Master Yahshua Messiah will happen as in the days of Noah. As it is written: “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24:37-39). We just read here that Yahweh took them all away. The wicked people were taken and destroyed in the waters and only righteous Noah and his family remained alive through Almighty Yahweh’s help. Notice again what happened to Noah and his family. Were they “raptured” from this planet just before the devastating flood? The Bible says no! On the contrary, they remained here on earth. The wicked are those that are taken and were destroyed, not whisked off to safety in heaven! Yahweh has guided Noah to prepare a place of safety and protection for him and his family right here on earth, not in heaven! Just as Noah was protected on earth during the great flood of ancient days, and Israel was protected in Egypt during the passing over of the death angel, Yahweh promises the same kind of earthly protection for His genuine people in the last days!

Furthermore, the following are Bible passages that directly rebuts the false and man-made rapture teaching. Yahshua Messiah Himself prayed that the righteous not be taken from the world, but that they be all safeguarded. Here’s what Yahshua said in His prayer to His Father Yahweh in the Book of John: “I pray not that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil” (John 17:15). This prayer by the Savior Himself directly contradicts the idea of a coming rapture to heaven! The Book of Matthew also recorded Yahshua saying this: “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened” (Matthew 24:22). This phrase clearly tells us that the elect or genuine Christians will still be on earth and it is because of them that Almighty Yahweh will make an end to destructive events in the last days! The Book of Revelation also recorded one of the elders inquires about the identity of all those people dressed in white robes: “And I said unto him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 7:14). The Bible cannot be more clearer and plainer than this!

In closing, the very popular rapture doctrine is very false and misguided. There is no rapture of believers months or years in advance of Yahshua’s actual coming. Rather, all genuine Christians will be caught up to meet Yahshua as He returns very visibly on the earth for the faithful Christians whose been alive on earth through the 3 1/2-year Tribulation period.
